About Ana Barriga

Ana Barriga (1984, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain) studied Fine Arts in Seville. Her paintings begin with discarded ornaments and figurines, which she rearranges, transforms and photographs before painting them. Bright colours, humour and irony give these familiar objects unexpected roles. Her practice combines oil and enamel with drawn and sprayed interventions. Her exhibitions include Say Cheese at Carl Kostyál in London (2023) and De animales a dioses at the Andalusian Contemporary Art Center in Seville (2019).
