← Back to the collectionChristophe Mabillon, known as CMAB, is a French sculptor whose artistic background also includes music. A profile published by the town of Maisons-Alfort records his discovery of marble carving in 2002 and his subsequent training in Carrara, Italy. His sculpture draws on mythology, symbols and forms inherited from Antiquity, bringing those references into a contemporary setting. Music remains an important strand: his stone and marble electric guitars pay tribute to the instrument and to the musicians associated with it. In 2013 he was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. The following year he was the guest artist at the 22nd UIAM salon in Maisons-Alfort. These documented elements describe his wider practice; the title, material and date of the particular work in this collection remain to be confirmed from its own documentation.
