Enough, Head is a bronze sculpture by Matteo Pugliese from 2019. The expressive head combines a highly modelled surface with the physical presence of cast bronze. Measuring 49 × 32 × 35 cm, this example is numbered 3/7 from an edition of seven plus three artist’s proofs. The work is accompanied by a certificate signed by the artist and is offered directly from a private collection. Matteo Pugliese was born in Milan in 1969 and developed an early interest in drawing and sculpture, according to his own biography. His practice centres on the human figure, sometimes presented in fragments or under tension. Enough, Head concentrates that attention in a single bronze head.

About Matteo Pugliese

Matteo Pugliese (born 1969 in Milan) is an Italian sculptor. He spent part of his childhood and youth in Sardinia and developed his interest in drawing and sculpture independently. In 1995 he completed a degree in modern literature at the University of Milan with a thesis on art criticism. His first solo exhibition, organised at his own expense in Milan in 2001, marked an important step towards a professional artistic career. His best-known series include Extra Moenia, fragmented bronze bodies that appear to emerge from walls. Their position makes the surrounding architecture part of the encounter and introduces a sense of effort, movement and constraint. Other strands include the Guardians, with their grounded stance and calm presence, and Beetles, inspired by memories of Sardinia. These series show different ways of exploring volume, physical force and imaginative association. His work has been presented internationally, and he continues to work in Milan.
